There’s something about trying something new that feels… a little uncomfortable, a little exciting, and a lot uncertain.
It’s that same feeling you get right before you hit “post” on Instagram for the first time.
Or when you decide—okay, I’m actually going to do this.
My Macaroni KID Story (A Full-Circle Moment)
I’m a South Bay girl at heart. A few years back, we moved to Fremont, and somewhere in the middle of navigating life (and eventually adding two more kiddos—yes, we’re at three now!), I stumbled across Macaroni KID.
And wow—what a game changer.
It made planning life with littles so much easier. Instead of endlessly searching for things to do, everything was right there. Events, ideas, inspiration. It became one of those “how did I not know about this sooner?” tools.
(And truly—thank you, Jen, for building something so helpful for families π)
Fast forward to today… we’re back in the South Bay, and now I’m the one building it here.
And let me tell you—starting something like this?
It stretches you.
The “Starting Instagram” Feeling
You know that feeling when you start an Instagram account?
- You overthink your first post
- You wonder if anyone will follow
- You question if it’s even worth it
- You hit publish anyway… and then immediately second guess it π
That’s exactly what stepping into something new feels like.
Whether it’s:
- Starting a business
- Launching a new idea
- Trying a class
- Or simply putting yourself out there
It requires you to step into growth mode.
Growth Isn’t Comfortable—But It’s Worth It
One thing I’ve always loved from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is the idea of being proactive—not waiting for the perfect moment, but choosing to take action anyway.
Another big one?
Begin with the end in mind.
For me, that’s simple:
Helping families feel less overwhelmed and more connected to their community.
Even on the days where I’m learning as I go.
Even when it feels messy.
Because growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone.
If You’re Thinking About Starting Something…
This is your gentle nudge:
Do it.
It might feel nerve-wracking.
But so is parenting… and we figured that out too, right? π
You don’t need it all mapped out.
You just need to take the first step.
Why I’m Sharing This (And a Little Ask π)
Part of stepping out for me has been building the Instagram presence and growing Macaroni KID here in the South Bay. Check the link here!
The goal?
To make it easier for families like ours to find:
- π Free & low-cost events
- π Easy weekend plans
- π Local gems
- π‘ “What should we do today?” ideas
If that sounds helpful (or you’ve ever found yourself Googling “things to do with kids near me” at the last minute π), I’d truly love for you to be part of it.
